The global high fashion brand ‘United Colours of Benetton’ (UCB), has plans to open 20 more outlets all over India in the coming year. After launching its first mega store in South India in Chennai on 27th Dec, Ms. Gagan Singh Managing Director, Benetton India Pvt Ltd. told the media persons that, after establishing its stores in North and East, now they are focusing on West and South. She added that, as retail sector is passing through a boom period, the company could carry on the same growth route as in 2005. In 2005 it had opened about 20 new stores all over the country. They have plans to open 4-5 new mega stores in South India soon. “India is a key market for the Benetton group and apart from evolving our product offering to suit the market, Benetton India will continue to build such mega stores to provide Indian consumers a global shopping experience,” she said.
