Mr. Vu Duc Giang, The Viet Nam Textile Corporation (Vinatex) Vice Director said that Vinatex has plans to develop an additional 28 textile and garment superstores in major cities and provinces nationwide, a total expansion of 28,000 square metres. The development plan was made with a view toward raising the corporation's domestic sales to 500 billion VND in 2006, Mr. Giang said, adding that Vinatex will soon inaugurate two fashion centres to meet customer demand for ready-made clothes. He added that the group plans an investment of 835 bln VND for expanding a nationwide chain of retail stores in the next five years. In a bid to improve the competitiveness of the made-in-Viet Nam trademarks for textile and garment products, Vinatex is building from 10-20 brand names for products of its affiliates and focusing on one or two brand names designed for exports. In addition, the group has bought copyrights for 2-4 foreign trademarks and joined hands with these enterprises to produce goods for domestic consumption.
