Tamfelt Corp. and the owners of the Polish PPH Totaltex Sp. zo.o. have on November 23, 2005 signed an agreement whereby Tamfelt will buy 80% of Totaltex. 20% will remain in the ownership of the President of Totaltex. The parties have agreed that the purchase price will not be published.
Totaltex is Poland's leading supplier of wet filtration media. The company also makes dry filtration fabrics. The products will well complement Tamfelt's filter fabric range. Totaltex was established in 1988 and their net sales amount to approximately two million euros. Totaltex employs about 50 people and it is located in the town of Lódz, Poland.
The filter fabric market in Poland is very promising and it is strategically important for Tamfelt to get a foothold there. There is a lot of mining and food industry in Poland, which use filter fabrics in their processes. Also the tightening environmental regulations in Eastern Europe will increase the need for filtration.
