Pakistan’s Minister of State for Economic Affairs Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar has called for designers to launch a new range of designs for rural textile items so that they are acceptable in the domestic and foreign urban markets. Ms. Khar also said that the Pakistan government will provide full support for developing modern technology and marketing strategies under AHAN. She suggested that the initial projects should be concluded as fast as possible so that AHAN can undertake other works. Mr. Shahab Khawaja, Chief Executive Officer, SMEDA, informed the members about the initiative taken for rapid progress of the project.
