The new washable nylon fiber – Supriva Wolure is a new rave in America as it substitutes the nylon look and feel for wool. The rug manufacturers at the upcoming New York Home Textiles Market, March 29 to April 2, will introduce the new washable rug. Bacova, Burlington, Maples, Mohawk Home and Springs would be showing the accent rugs.
Invista, formerly DuPont Textiles & Interiors, is currently manufacturing Supriva Wolure. Rugs made of the new fiber are washable and easy to care. According to Ana Torrence, rugs Business Director for Invista. "Mills and retailers are amazed that our new Supriva Wolure is a man-made fiber. The concept of a rug that looks like wool but is washable has generated a lot of interest and

The styling possibilities for Supriva Wolure range from chunky sheared wool-like styles in solids and tweeds, to tailored looks with pinpoint definition for prints, according to the company. Because of the washability, the rugs are suitable for any area of the home, the company pointed out.
Supriva Wolure is made from Invista type 6.6 nylon fiber. The patented fiber cross section imparts the natural look and feel, and styles with DuPont Teflon rug protector helping in easy removal of stains during normal laundering, the company noted.
Invista currently a business unit of DuPont, is the largest integrated fiber and intermediates business in the world, with revenues of US$ 6.3 billion for 2002. Other carpet and rug brands from Invista include Stainmaster, Antron and Tactel.
