Workers of the Swadeshi and Bharathi Textile mills in Pondicherry put up a road blockade to push their demands on 24th January. More than 200 workers

have been arrested by the police to overcome the picketing members of trade unions. Mill workers have been agitating for some time demanding wage hike as accepted by the government and provision of arrears.
