Model Yana Gupta gave away gift vouchers to the winners. More such contest would be held in future, promised Chakravarty. Chakravarty said that the Indian market for denim wear stood at 100 million pairs per year, worth Rs 80 crore.

| claimed. Lee positioned itself as a premium brand of denim wear for young customers, mostly students. Retailing helped the premium segment category to grow by 20 per cent, said Chakravarty. Lee had its own team of designers to cater to Indian needs, offering six to seven fits in every waist band for both men and women. The spring-summer collection would add to this, said Chakravarty. Arvind Brands Limited has the licence to sell Lee in India. However, it had an export division which sold the brand in countries belonging to the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation.
