Pakistan denim exporters are finding the going tough. Competition from other countries, their low production costs and moderate government levies has resulted in the decline in denim exports to the US. Export figures show a decline of 7.9 percent. Statistics of US Office of Textiles and Apparels (OTEXA) revealed a 6 percent increase in denim exports to the US in 2005, compared with the 1,044 percent growth registered by China.
