Pakistan denim exporters are finding the going tough. Competition from other countries, their low production costs and moderate government levies has resulted in the decline in denim exports to the US. Export figures show a decline of 7.9 percent. A leading exporter lamented over the poor facilities provided by

Pakistani Government and added that Government of China does not take any charge on electricity consumed by new units for first three years, while even the Indian Government also offers incentives. Statistics of US Office of Textiles and Apparels (OTEXA) revealed a 6 percent increase in denim exports to the US in 2005, compared with the 1,044 percent growth registered by China.
