China will voluntarily restrict its clothing and textile exports to South Africa; this was announced by Chinese, Ambassador to South Africa, Mr. Liu Guijin. China’s exports to South Africa had increased 40 % in the past nine months. Dr. Aaron Searll, CEO, Seardel Investment Holdings, commented that the reduction

| in the imports will help boost the flagging domestic industry. Mr. Searll also added that the industry had yet to be clearly informed about the nature and duration of restrictions. Seardel Investment Holdings is the country’s biggest clothing and textile manufacturer and is involved in diverse areas of activities including distribution of toys and consumer electronics.
