The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced that it will levy an anti-dumping tax starting from 23 January, 2006 on an imported chemical. The compound is used for making silicon polymer and is imported from Japan, United States, Britain and Germany.

| Sources noted that importers from the four countries should pay an antidumping tax over the next five years at rates between 13 and 22 %. The ministry began its investigation on July 16 last year on this material which is widely used in the construction, electronics, textiles, auto, food and machine production industries.
