The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced that it will levy an anti-dumping tax starting from 23 January, 2006 on an imported chemical. The compound is used for making silicon polymer and is imported from Japan, United States, Britain and Germany.

Sources noted that importers from the four countries should pay an antidumping tax over the next five years at rates between 13 and 22 %. The ministry began its investigation on July 16 last year on this material which is widely used in the construction, electronics, textiles, auto, food and machine production industries.
