To meet the current demand of Indian textile manufacturers of textiles for value added paper in textiles, leading paperboards and specialty papers producer ITC announced launching of a new plan “Partnering for global success.” According to K.I.Vishwanathan, Marketing Head, ITC Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division (PSPD), the textile industry utilizes paperboards for several purposes such as tags, cartons, photo-cards and inserts, hence the plan would be launched in various parts of the country such as Bangalore, Ludhiana and Delhi covering all the important textile regions.
The consumption

| of value-added paper in Indian textile exports is presently around 3,600 tonnes per year. It is expected that the consumption will also rise with the textile exports from the country. The new plan “Partnering for global success” by the company targets to work with the export industry to meet this requirement.
PSPD has established a devoted unit in Tirupur to work with exporters. It would frequently communicate with the end users of the products and the printers to give solutions. The unit is already in touch with nearly 300 printers. Plans are afoot to set up infrastructure to make available all the products to fulfill the requirements of consumers.
