China and the EUropean Union have agreed to limit the growth of Chinese textile and clothing exports to the EU until the end of 2007 in a bid to avert a trade war. Chinese Commerce Ministry release says that under

the agreement reached last Friday between Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai and EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson, the annual growth in exports of 10 Chinese textile products to the EU will be set at 8 percent to 12.5 percent from June 11, 2005 through the end of 2007.
