China's textile machinery industry has been on a rise of 23.42% year-on-year. Last year the industry has generated an industrial output of Rmb 46.947 bln. This was seen in a survey conducted among 731 textile machinery suppliers across the country by the China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) reported on February 20. The industry recorded a sales

| income of Rmb45.365 bln and a profit of Rmb2.336 bln, representing increases of 22.62% and 14.27% respectively. The import value of textile machine was US$3.445 billion last year, down 24.06% as compared to 2004, according to Chinese customs. The export value of textile machine was US$871 mln, up 30.34% year-on-year, of which 96% were contributed by the eastern region. Guangdong Province ranked first in volume terms.
