The launching ceremony of new products was held at its pavilion in Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) on 31st Dec. Nitol-Tata Chairman, Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Vice-President of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), Mr. Dewan Sultan Ahmed, Vice-Chairman of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Mr. Mir Shahabuddin Ahmad were present at the inaugural ceremony as special guests. Presided over by Asian textile Mills Ltd. Chairman Mr. Harun Ur Rashid, the function was attended by foreign dignitaries, businessmen, officials of

FBCCI and officials of Commerce Ministry and EPB. He said the government attaches the highest priority to increasing the export of textile items.
The Minister was optimistic of exporting more textile products in the future and hopeful of earning more foreign exchange from this sector. Replying to the demands of textile industry to lower bank interest rate to 7.0 % from current 12-14 % and to get 25 % cash incentive, the Minister assured the businessmen of considering the issue positively after discussing this with the finance ministry and concerned authorities. Earlier, the Chairman of Asian textile Mills Ltd. also spoke on the occasion and placed the above demands before the Commerce Minister for considering the issues seriously. Asian textile Mills Ltd. won the first prize for excellence from DITF for six consecutive years.
