Garden Silk Mills has started commercial production of polyester partially oriented yarn (POY) and chips from its new continuous polymerization plant in Jolwa. | Chips in house and the remaining 330 mt would be sold in the open market. Garden’s partially oriented yarn manufacturing capacity has increased from 65,000 mt per annum to 1.15 lakh mt per annum and become the third largest polyester yarn manufacturer in India. The plant has been setup in association with the USA-based Chemtex and Germany-based Barmag, at an investment of Rs. 3000 million.
